The Bullet Hole Cabin II at Whispering Ridge is located in the West Kootenai, Rexford, Montana. Located at the top northwest side of Lake Koocanusa (a 90+ mile long lake extending from Canada into the USA), the cabin is located less than 1 mile from British Columbia to the north; approximately 40 air miles east of the Idaho border; 2 hours from Glacier National Park; in the midst of the Kootenai National Forest with close proximity of state game and fish lands.
West Kootenai is approximately 26 miles from Eureka, the closest town. Libby is 75 miles to the southwest; Kalispell & Whitefish are approximately 100 miles to the southeast.
The West Kootenai is 'an experience' - not a location - as people have described it. Amish and 'English' live side-by-side, in the community, that we proudly call the "West Kootenai."
You will travel across the Koocanusa Bridge and through 15 miles of Kootenai National Forest until you reach scattered homes throughout this area. The Kootenai National Forest measures 2.2 million acres in size. State game lands over 1100 acres in size are within .5 of a mile from our property.
The Bullet Hole Cabin II sits on our ten acre parcel at "Whispering Ridge." Also on the property is our main home which is approximately 600 feet from the guest cabin. The shop sits approximately 200 feet from the guest cabin. To promote the guest cabin's privacy, a separate circular driveway is provided and trees have been planted.
Our northern property line is the Kootenai National Forest. From that point, it is less than a mile to the Canadian Border. Visible from our property looking towards the Whitefish Range of the Rocky Mountains is the "Buzz Cut," the swatch of trees cut forming the border. It is non-motorized access into the National Forest.
