Originally an Amish homestead cabin, the cabin was one room measuring 12'x20' with a covered porch.  When we purchased the property, the cabin had been enlarged to 20'x20' and had 2 rooms with a covered porch.  It had gas lights but no electric.  And, it had two bullet holes in the side of it.
Knowing that we wanted to make this into a 'memorable' guest cabin, we began by removing of the 'add-ons,' including the roof, and taking the cabin down to its original 12'x20' size.  The cabin was then moved to a new location with a foundation.  We then enlarged the original cabin to its new size of 20'x24' and added a second floor. Thus, the "The Bullet Hole Cabin II" at Whispering Ridge was born.

Quiet, restful, beautiful, unbelievably clean, great amenities, off-the-beaten track, and simply gorgeous are words used by guests to describe the cabin.   Discover for yourself today!
Before Renovation
The Bullet Hole Cabin is a totally renovated guest cabin that opened in July 2010.  It will sleep six/seven guests comfortably. Open year-round, the log-sided cabin, nestled among the pines, features covered front and back porches with views of the Whitefish Range of the Rocky Mountains to the east and Mount Robinson to the west.

The cabin is a cozy 840 square feet.  On the main floor, you will find a living room with a soaring cathedral ceiling and a gas fireplace.  A fully-equipped custom oak kitchen has a refrigerator, dishwasher, gas stove and microwave.   The kitchen also has a coffee maker, toaster, electric griddle, crock pot, and can opener as well as all dishware and cookware that you will need including wine glasses. Seating for 6 at the peninsula island will make dining a pleasure.  Also on the main floor, you will find a private bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath with an extra-long 6' tub for soaking, perfect after a day of hiking, as well as a washer and dryer for your convenience.

On the second floor, you will find a loft bedroom open to the living room below with a king-sized bed that can be converted into two twins, if needed. A second private bedroom with a full bed is also found on the second floor.  A three-quarter bath with a shower completes the floor plan. There are no individual closets. However, bureaus and cabinets with hangers are provided.

A central heat pump as well as a gas fireplace provide heat. The cabin has air-conditioning; however, you usually don't need it, especially at night, as most summer nights are cool in the 50 to 60 degree temperature range.

Enjoy your morning coffee or a relaxing dinner on the back porch. Turkeys as well as deer frequent the woods in back of the cabin.

The Bullet Hole Cabin II sits on our ten acre parcel at "Whispering Ridge."    Also on the property is our main home which is approximately 600 feet from the guest cabin.  The shop sits approximately 200 feet from the guest cabin.  Both are visible from the front porch ~ although the cabin's back porch affords total privacy.  A separate circular driveway is provided and trees have been planted for our guests' privacy ~ albeit small trees. The deer ate the large trees we planted.

You are assured of your privacy.  When you arrive, we introduce ourselves, fill you in on the 'workings' of the cabin, and disappear. If you have any questions, feel free to find us!

Quiet and relaxing ...... when was the last time you were able to hear a small bird's wings flap?
